The biggest real-time building energy and water use reduction competition in history

Now in its second year, Campus Conservation Nationals is a nationwide competition that challenges college and university campuses to achieve the greatest electricity and water use reductions during a three-week period. Competitions take place from February 6th until April 23rd across the U.S. and Canada. CCN 2012 will utilize Lucid's Building Dashboard® to instantly compare performance, enable sharing of winning strategies, and track standings among the leading schools and buildings.

Schools will compete against buildings on their own campus, in state and regional competitions, and against a select group of peer institutions. Schools are working together to meet a national challenge goal of one gigawatt-hour of savings!

Campus Conservation Nationals is building on a successful pilot, hosted in 2010. From November 1-19, 2010, forty participating colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada reduced electricity consumption by 508,000 kilowatt-hours, saving $50,200 and averting 816,000 pounds of carbon dioxide.
