Application Engineer

Position
Lucid is seeking an engineer with technical experience to be an integral part of our implementation and support team. This person will implement Building Dashboard for new customers, drive projects to completion and provide level two technical support to existing customers. This is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a cleantech company with a growing customer base, proven technology, and strong market demand.

Responsibilities
• Responding promptly to customer requests for assistance
• Performing data analysis to evaluate accuracy and managing problems to successful resolution
• Commissioning and distributing of touchscreen displays to customers
• Assuring uptime of data streams from clients
• Managing new installations to a successful and timely completion, with attention to deliverables and revenue targets
• Managing project backlog with attention to deliverables and revenue targets
• Working directly with the sales team to meet revenue targets
• Configuring of hardware/software to perform communication with local building automation system protocols
• Documenting technical details of implementations

Required Experience & Skills
• BA/BS with a focus in an engineering field with less than 5 years of experience including education (electrical, mechanical, etc.)
• Ability to quickly master new programming languages or other technical tasks as required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Windows operating systems and command line interfaces
• Personable with excellent communication skills
• Demonstrated experience in successfully troubleshooting technical problems
• Organized, dependable, and self-motivated
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team

Desired Experience & Skills
• Proficiency with SQL and XML
• Experience with at least one programming language
• Experience with computer and network hardware principles and design a plus
• Knowledge of commercial building automation systems (BACnet, Modbus) and electrical/water/gas metering a plus
• Must achieve a thorough understanding of product architecture, technical components, and application functionality
• Demonstrated TCP/IP networking knowledge, including NAT, DNS, DHCP, a plus

Client Consultant

Position
Lucid is looking for a Client Consultant to cultivate and grow our relationship with new and existing customers as Lucid implements Building Dashboard for their buildings. The Client Consultant will work closely with sales and the Director of Public Programs to understand the nuances and details of driving energy conservation behavior change programs, and will then be responsible for helping to drive those programs to success. The Client Consultant will handle regular communication with clients, ensuring extremely high levels of customer service and an engaging user experience.

Responsibilities
• Manage clients in multiple business verticals, developing positive working relationships with the sustainability team, facilities team, IT department and PR team at these organizations.
• Work with Lucid's Operations and Application Engineering teams to assist with day-to-day operational processes including Building Dashboard set-up and updates, receipt of fully completed customer information, optimization of client engagement programs and data trouble-shooting.
• Manage sales process for up-sell opportunities and continued customer engagement.
• Manage successful client deployments and ensure ongoing high client satisfaction and renewal.
• Follow (and provide input on) consistent processes for managing client success from signature of Independent Contractor Agreement to billing.
• In consultation with the Director of Public Programs, develop, disseminate and implement programs and materials that will aid customers in fully utilizing the Dashboard. This includes developing a strong web presence, integrating with organizations' existing social networks, and ensuring that the Dashboard is well utilized.
• In consultation with Director of Public Programs, host a series of training workshops for new customers discussing the functionality and uses of the Dashboard.
• Manage customer activity with customer relationship management tools for maximum efficiency and visibility, with carefully executed follow-up to closure on open client issues.
• Work closely with product and marketing teams to communicate root causes for customer success or failure, and drive requirements for product enhancement and development.

Required Experience & Skills
• Proven experience in account management with technical products and services.
• Exceptionally high degree of organization, creativity, self-motivation, and drive.
• Familiarity using a CRM platform to help manage customer relationships.
• Eagerness to work in a start-up team environment that will be rapidly changing.
• Willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and presentation skills.
• Passionate about the environment and resource conservation.
• 1-2+ years experience in event management or account management.
• 1-2+ years online business experience in sales & marketing, preferably in online businesses.
• BS or BA required.

Frontend UI/UX/Javascript/HTML5 Engineer

Position
Lucid is looking for a JS/CSS/HTML5 Ninja with passion and creativity for building interactive, data-driven applications. You will be an integral part of the team rebuilding our flash-based data visualization front-end with the open technologies of tomorrow's web, today. You value snappy UI, clean and efficient code, and rich user experiences. The ideal candidate has a computer science background, but we are most interested in your skills, experience, and personality.

Responsibilities
• Implement rich, engaging, and intuitive interfaces to complex, realtime building performance data in HTML/JS/CSS
• Conform to best practices in software development, adhering to the development model, writing maintainable code, and using revision control and issue tracking systems
• Work with a team of experienced data visualization and design experts to design UI and UX elements based on best practices and proven research
• Participate meaningfully in project management and product planning, producing deliverables on time
• Design and prototype experimental features, and guide them through the development process
• Build and leverage reusable frameworks and architectures to simplify development
• Contribute to small but motivated engineering team on other areas of interest and expertise
• Engage peers with periodic code reviews and feature demonstrations

Required Experience & Skills
• Exceptional proficiency using HTML/CSS/JavaScript/AJAX in a production environment
• Demonstrated design and UX sensibilities
• Experience with current UI libraries and frameworks
• Sound understanding of modern, scalable web architectures
• Experience with modern template engines and templating languages for rendering HTML/JavaScript.
• Detailed knowledge of web standards such as HTTP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and DOM
• Experience designing and implementing browser-based user interfaces using AJAX, ReST, and/or JSON
• Comfortable with Python, JavaScript, and a *nix terminal
• Experience with server side architecture (Django, Rails)
• Knowledge of version control, build, and issue tracking tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong CS fundamentals gained through Bachelor's degree in CS, HCI or related discipline or equivalent industry experience

Desirable
• Experience with data visualization and creating and/or using charting components
• UX and user testing experience
• Relational Database experience
