Vladi is one of Lucid's co-founders, and manages the product and technical teams that have developed Building Dashboard® from the ground up. He also works closely with the creative team to design and implement scalable, interactive user interfaces for Lucid's suite of products. Vladi's expertise in the Building Dashboard back end has driven development of core components of Lucid's robust data acquisition and management system. Prior to his time at Lucid, he designed, implemented and studied the behavioral effects of a ground-breaking wireless data monitoring and display system on building residents' resource consumption. A recipient of prestigious national awards, including from U.S. EPA and California Clean Tech Open, he has multiple publications and presentations in the domain of tracking and optimizing building occupant performance. Vladi holds a BA with high honors in Environmental Studies and Computer Science from Oberlin College.
Gavin is one of Lucid's co-founders, and his creative approach underpins the look and feel of Lucid's suite of products. He designed novel interactive computer interfaces for displaying building resource flows in the acclaimed Lewis Center for Environmental Studies at Oberlin College. Prior to Lucid, Gavin was an operator of an ecologically engineered wastewater treatment facility, of which he also worked to visualize system performance in real time. His work has been featured in Adobe Think Tank, Make Magazine, PBS and Wired, as well as other leading design, technology and green building publications. Founder of eMarketEconomy.com and recipient of awards from the Ohio Academy of Science and National Wildlife Federation, Gavin has authored multiple patents on the Building Dashboard user interface and back end, and has been published for ground-breaking research in energy visualization. John Petersen is one of Lucid's co-founders, Associate Professor of Environmental Studies and Biology and Director of Oberlin College’s Environmental Studies Program. He also serves as Chairman of the Board and Research Coordinator at Lucid Design Group. A systems ecologist by training, Dr. Petersen's research focuses on quantifying flows of energy, cycles of matter and feedback as a control agent influencing the development of complex systems. A major thrust of his current research and work with Lucid focused on the use of real-time feedback on the environmental performance of buildings as a mechanism for engaging, educating, motivating and empowering communities of building users to conserve resource use. John holds a BA from Oberlin College, an MFS from Yale University and a PhD from University of Maryland.
