Homepage

Choose from an expanding library of widgets for your Building Dashboard homepage. Widgets make your most essential information front and center, automatically summarizing building performance for at-a-glance viewing. Remarkably compelling and fun to use, widgets also deliver more than just resource use data.

Introduction messages

Greet new users of the dashboard with photo slideshows and welcome text. Building- and organization-specific introduction messages are designed for mission statements, instructions, sponsorship details and other information.

Summaries and comparisons

Usage profiles, community comparisons and end use breakdowns provide a compact snapshot of building performance. Summary and comparison widgets make it easy to quickly glimpse energy and water use data.

Social integration

Integration between Building Dashboard and Facebook connects individuals with their larger building or campus community. Live discussion feeds, public commitments to conserve, energy "mob" events and more make conservation engaging and social.

Widgets library

As smaller versions of full-featured Apps, and as unique mini-apps themselves, simple and beautiful widgets encourage users to regularly visit the dashboard. Budgets, green tips, weather, video and more can be added to any profile.

Comparisons

Make instant resource use comparisons within your building or across your campus or organization. Use the Comparison App to easily look at consumption across individual floors, apartments, end uses, building types, locations and more. Simple tools allow you to categorize and sort consumers, select custom time periods for display and build your own comparison graphs with a single click.

Building groups

Place buildings and locations into groups for comparison. Groups automatically categorize different building types, locations and end uses, making it convenient to browse all monitored variables within a building or across a campus.

Dynamic time period selection

Analyze performance during a time period that you define. The dynamic timeline tool allows you to effortlessly look at day-to-day usage or drill down into today's minute resolution data. Or, simply enter your own custom starting and ending date.

Bar chart comparisons

Building and location groups are visualized in easy-to-read bar charts. Bar charts support multiple sorting methods as well as per person and per square foot comparison modes. Click "Add to Graph" to place individual buildings or end uses on a line chart.

Custom line chart comparisons

Build your own comparison graphs with a single click. Simply select buildings or end uses from the bar chart to create an interactive line chart on the same screen, allowing you to examine one or multiple data sources in greater detail.

Competitions

Host exciting real-time energy and water use reduction competitions. Individual floors, buildings, user-defined groups and even entire organizations can compete to reduce consumption at the local, regional and national levels. As changes in resource use are recorded, reductions are instantly displayed on your Building Dashboard and across the Network.

Competition groups

Place floors, buildings and organizations into competition groups. When competing within a school or company, or with rival institutions or regional offices, competition groups allow you to easily browse the performance of all competing buildings.

Real-time rankings

Get real-time updates on your standing in a competition. As changes in resource use are recorded, reductions and corresponding trophies and medallions are displayed on your dashboard, Facebook profile page and across the Network.

Savings odometer

Keep tabs on the total savings accrued during a competition. The savings odometer provides a competition-wide snapshot of current kilowatt-hours and money saved, and pounds of carbon dioxide averted from the atmosphere.

Performance summary

Analyze hourly and daily performance during a competition. Performance summaries give occupants an overview of their building's changing rank among all participants, and highlight the time of day when consumption customarily peaks.

Discussion feeds

Live discussion feeds enable occupants to make public announcements and strategize about reduction efforts within their building and community. Posts are automatically linked and displayed on an individual's Facebook profile page.

Global competitions browser

Browse all local competitions taking place within your organization, or look at public competitions that are underway in other parts of the world. The global competitions browser also allows you to access your competition performance history.

Green features

Showcase your building's green features and the sustainability initiatives employed throughout your school, company or organization. The Green Features App makes it possible to build content-rich, interactive narratives of your building or campus, organized exactly the way you like. For LEED® certified facilities, automatically generate LEED credit explanations, or link to external websites.

Photo slideshows

Browse photos of green building features and sustainability initiatives. Photo slideshows create an illustrated story of your building or campus, allowing occupants and visitors to learn about your organization's commitment to stewardship.

Thumbnail navigation

Easily navigate green features with thumbnail images. Thumbnail navigation smartly organizes feature sets into a table of contents panel with relevant category titles for different themes, feature types, building characteristics or LEED categories.

LEED® credit explanations

Explain the meaning and objectives of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) credits to a layperson audience. LEED credit explanations clearly and succinctly describe the goals of individual credits associated with a green feature.

Fully formatted narratives

Present green features descriptions in rich HTML text. Fully formatted narratives allow you to include resizable text, hyperlinks and other convenient formatting options commonly found in word processing documents and on the web.

Renewables

Visualize the performance of renewable energy and water technologies with context-specific, data-enabled illustrations. The Renewables App allows you to communicate real-time and historical production, efficiency, savings, payback and other monitored variables for solar photovoltaic, wind, solar thermal, geothermal, rainwater collection and wastewater recycling systems.

Data-enabled illustrations

Combine real-time performance data with renewable energy and water system illustrations. Data-enabled diagrams and illustrations put the flows of energy and materials in context, making it understandable to a layperson audience.

Performance panels

Catch an at-a-glance summary of system performance. Always visible no matter what topic you're exploring, performance panels show the current rate of energy production and water reuse, historical performance, system status and unit equivalents.

Photo slideshows

Browse photos of renewable systems. Photo slideshows are designed to display photographs and renderings with optional titles and annotations, all of which are easily navigable through a single photo album for each system.

Real-time payback calculations

Calculate the financial savings and environmental benefits of renewable systems. Real-time payback calculations show system cost in detail, including upfront costs and ongoing generated savings, and convert these data into everyday units.

External content

Also want to display external, custom content? Third-party websites and applications can be loaded directly into your Building Dashboard. Use the External Content App to easily incorporate your own webpages, documents, utilities, games and other web-based applications within the Network.

Embedded webpages

Insert your own webpage into a building or organization profile page. Embedded webpages make it easy to automatically serve external sites that you manage and control, such as sustainability pages, carbon calculators and other content.

Pop-up webpages

Make external content linkable from a widget on your homepage. Pop-up webpages display content on top of the dashboard, focusing a user's attention on only the text, YouTube videos, Flash games and other content being presented.
