Lucid Design Group Honored with California's Prestigious Flex Your Power Award

San Francisco, CA - Flex Your Power, California's statewide energy efficiency campaign, recently recognized Lucid Design Group with a Flex Your Power Award for its outstanding leadership in energy efficiency. This year, a total of 46 winners were selected from several hundred applicants for their exceptional contributions to energy efficiency in California. Cumulatively, award winners over the last three years have saved more than $500 million, three billion kilowatt hours and reduced greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to removing more than 230,000 cars from the road. This year's 6th Annual Flex Your Power Awards Ceremony was held on December 15, 2008 in San Francisco.
Lucid claimed Honorable Mention in the Innovative Products & Services category. Lucid's Building Dashboard® technology was recognized for helping businesses and residents save energy and water in California and throughout the U.S.
Of the award winners, Director Walter McGuire of Flex Your Power explained, "The awards present an opportunity for California to congratulate the leadership shown by this year's Flex Your Power award winners, who have demonstrated that we can all save money and the environment. By reducing their energy use, this year's Flex Your Power award winners have saved more than $227 million, 1.5 billion kilowatt hours, 122 billion gallons of water, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 1.3 billion pounds."
In addition to the California Energy Commission, Flex Your Power Award winners were selected by senior representatives from the California Independent System Operator, League of California Cities, Building Owners and Managers Association, Silicon Valley Leadership Group, Sacramento Municipal Utility District, California Council for Environmental and Economic Balance, California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance, Association of California Water Agencies and Southern California Edison.
