The Weather Channel's 'Forecast Earth' features Lucid's Building Dashboard®
May 5, 2008
Atlanta, GA - Lucid's Building Dashboard® is featured on The Weather Channel's 'Forecast Earth,' showcasing green technologies and design strategies employed throughout EcoManor, the first LEED® certified residence in the Southeast and the first residence in the region to utilize both solar and geothermal energy to power its daily energy use.
Located in Atlanta, EcoManor is also the first residence in the region to utilize both solar and geothermal energy to power its daily energy use. The Building Dashboard® display is intended to demonstrate the feasibility and profitability of building green. Serving as the visual centerpiece of
the home, EcoManor's Building Dashboard® allows occupants to automatically and continuously tally payback on the investments made in green technologies such as solar panels, geothermal heat pumps, a greywater recycling tank and rainwater reuse cistern.
The home is also used as an educational tool for builders, architects and designers, vendors, landscapers, homeowners and the public at large. EcoManor is the first house ever to be certified by three of the country's leading green initiatives (U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, Greater Atlanta HBA's EarthCraft House program and National Wildlife Federation's Backyard Wildlife Habitat program).
